The Birds are busy again at the Van and down at the Hide, after filling feeders for 3 days we recorded the following birds Great Spotted Woodpecker, Long Tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Redpoll, Robin, Wren, Chaffinch, Jay, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Blue Tit.
The site was very quiet yesterday and whilst walking back from reception something caught my eye under the trees. I saw a Male Sparrow Hawk with a Wood Pigeon. Its a dangerous place for any bird but being a big bird it must have been an easy meal.

Juvenile Tawny Owl has been seen daily up at the Stables, most likely using the yard as a place to get an easy meal.
The 3rd Tawny Owl nest box was erected Sunday 20 Sept in the woods next to the play area. So now there is a box in all the woods around the park.this is the nest box i erected 3 weeks ago and we have a juvenile using it to Roost.
A familiar sighting around Goodenbergh is the Treecreeper, the bird can only climb vertical so will start from the bottom of the tree looking for food. When it gets to the top it will fly down to the next tree and start again.
After a long day, me and Colin built the Fence to close off the Hide area. With just the gate to build it looks reallly good and will stop the Horses getting in.
