First sighting of Greenfinch at Hide

10th March The Grey Heron

Great day at the hide, made a shelf inside to rest Camera on or Scope. Again a wide variety of birds visiting the feeders. 9th March The Hide

A few showers but i managed to get down to the hide to put food out for the birds. The light was bad but managed to get a few pictures of a Male Chaffinch a Female Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Robin.

Very cold morning with a slight covering of snow around the site. Due to the mild winter climate, many birds not seen last year until mid April are here now. Oct 26th New Barn Owl Nest Box

With the help of my mate Frank we erected a Barn Owl Box in a great location so with any look we can attract the magnificent Owl to the Goodenbergh Site. I will keep you informed if we have get any visitors. Photo taken by me this year in Bentham.

Oct Tufted Duck

From the edge of the site there is a lake and although not part of the site you can see numerous wildlife on it. The Tufted Duck has started to arrive, a shy bird that does’nt like being photographed. With a bit of cam i got a nice shot of the this pair.

Oct 19th Chaffinch in Flight

Out of all the birds on site the Chaffinch finds landing on feeders hard and flutters about for a few seconds so i focused on a point and waited for one to come into the view finder. Lot of work to do but happy with first few shots.

The Birds are busy again at the Van and down at the Hide, after filling feeders for 3 days we recorded the following birds Great Spotted Woodpecker, Long Tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Redpoll, Robin, Wren, Chaffinch, Jay, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Blue Tit.

Oct 2015 Sparrowhawk

The site was very quiet yesterday and whilst walking back from reception something caught my eye under the trees. I saw a Male Sparrow Hawk with a Wood Pigeon. Its a dangerous place for any bird but being a big bird it must have been an easy meal.
