From the edge of the site there is a lake and although not part of the site you can see numerous wildlife on it. The Tufted Duck has started to arrive, a shy bird that does’nt like being photographed. With a bit of cam i got a nice shot of the this pair.
Out of all the birds on site the Chaffinch finds landing on feeders hard and flutters about for a few seconds so i focused on a point and waited for one to come into the view finder. Lot of work to do but happy with first few shots.
First sighting of Long Tailed Tits down at the Hide about 4 in total.
The Birds are busy again at the Van and down at the Hide, after filling feeders for 3 days we recorded the following birds Great Spotted Woodpecker, Long Tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Redpoll, Robin, Wren, Chaffinch, Jay, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Blue Tit.
The site was very quiet yesterday and whilst walking back from reception something caught my eye under the trees. I saw a Male Sparrow Hawk with a Wood Pigeon. Its a dangerous place for any bird but being a big bird it must have been an easy meal.
