Very cold morning with a slight covering of snow around the site. Due to the mild winter climate, many birds not seen last year until mid April are here now. The Greenfinch and Siskin were recorded around mid April last year, and came to the feeders at 30 BirchWood first day on site. The Long Tailed tit also was rare to see last year, have turned up in small numbers. The Jay can be seen at the Hide feeding on Nuts and the Great Spotted Woodpecker male and Female make a visit. Sad news is that 3 Owl Boxes have Grey Squirrels living in them, so it is unlikely that we will ever have Tawny Owls breeding in them.
