Woke up to the song of the Song Thrush and a mist drifting through the site with the Sun trying to break through. The Feeders were full of Goldfinches and Lessor Redpolls. This is the first year that i have seen the Redpoll and Siskin here this early. The Hide was full of activity with… Read more »

I have sighted 2 new nest boxes in the woods down near the Hide so no we have 5 Tawny Owl Nest Boxes up in the Goodenbergh Site. Lets hope they find them and use them.

There was lots of activity down at the hide Wednesday, with the Woodpeacker Nuthatch Goldfinch Robin Wren Coal tit Blue Tit Great Tit and Chaffinch all feeding well. First Tree Sparrow using our nest boxes outside bedroom window. Smaller than a house sparrow and more active, with its tail almost permanently cocked. It has a chestnut brown head and nape (rather than grey), and white cheeks and collar with a contrasting black cheek spot. They are shyer than house sparrows in the UK… Read more »
Coming back from filming the Roe Deer the Sun had come round and was shining down at the back of the Lake. I spotted a Brown Hare sitting on the the path, the colours of the Beach tree Gold and Yellow were amazing so i tried to get a little closer to get the shot… Read more »

Female Roe deer grazing at the Meadow near the hide. I was approaching and got spotted but managed to get this nice face shot. There are 2 young ones in the area so i will try and get a photo of them.
Big flocks of Redwing feeding on berries up near the stables, very alert bird and so hard to get close for a photo.
2 Tawny Owls sitting together this morning then one retreated to the safety of the nest box.
