New Season about to start

Hi to everyone  that follows the the Blog. Well the winter was kind to the wildlife with little rain and hardly any long cold spells. I am up in the morning to start getting the van Feeders ready and filled, and then me and Ruth will head down to the Hide to set it up with some nice food for the birds. Great time of year and when and when i went up last week the first thing i heard the call of the Song Thrush singing at the top of a pine tree close to the Van. I went to the Hide and found that a Grey Squirrel had managed to get through the door and happily had a feast on the Peanuts and Sunflower seed.

Lets hope its a great year again for new species as last year was the best on record, the only bird that didn’t return was the Bullfinch so i am hoping they come to feed and raise there family on Goodenbergh like in 2015.

There are 2 new Tawny Owl Boxes up in new locations so with a bit of look they have found them and will breed happily in peace.

I have a few new ideas for this year, one is to post and record Wildlife off site. The local area has great variety of wildlife and most people with venture off site and see things like myself and wish to share their sightings with other site members and pass on there findings to me so i can inform everyone on Facebook Group or on this Blog on where to see certain wildlife.

There is one Bird i am concentrating on this season and its the Common Kingfisher, i found one just before the season finished so i hope to film it and post my findings on here for all to enjoy.

Foxes are on my list this year as i was a bit late last year so with some local knowledge i will hopefully get the Cubs a bit younger this time and some pictures for you to enjoy.

The Hide will be great his year and i hope more people use it his year as they did last year, please record your sightings and i will be putting a new White Board in the hide for recordings.

Thanks Keep Looking for the first sightings coming very soon.
