Great Spotted Woodpecker.

The Great Spotted Woodpecker is one of the best birds to photograph at the hide. It will check the area first by sitting high on a new tree i placed in the ground just at the front of the hide. It then looks for the Fat that have squeezed into a log with holes in, or the Peanuts that are scattered around in tree holes. Once in the hide area it spends a lot of time playing hide and seek with you, moving around the tree as though it knows your watching it. There is a male and female doing regular visits spending a good 3 to 4 minutes for you to capture some unusual positions. Anticipating when the bird helps and this come with lots of observations on the birds behaviour.
