The Male and Female Bullfinch arrived around April this year, first the Female then the Male. The main source of food being the Suflower Hearts. For some reason they wont feed on the normal hanging feeder but like to feed off the ground. I have also found that they will come to a clear glass window feeder and are happy feeding from this. Early last week i noticed that the Male was only coming to feed, so it was likely that the Female was on the nest. On Saturday afternoon the Female was sitting in the pine trees at the back of the van when 2 Juvenile Bullfinch’s appeared. This was the first time i have ever seen a young Bullfinch and captured one of the young looking for food on the ground.
